We want to ensure that every canopy we install provides you with years of trouble free use. Here are a few tips ?

WHERE CAN I PUT MY CANOPIES ?

We can install any canopy virtually anywhere providing there is a level solid base (eg a concrete or decking base) If you are unsure, please contact us and we will be happy to advise.

If you do not have a solid level base, for some canopies, we can build concrete pads, for an additional nominal cost, which are typically constructed of 400mm³ concrete blocks. An ideal solution for grassy, tarmac and uneven areas.

Larger and heavier ( >7m²+) canopies will require a concreted area the size of the canopy.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ?

An average installation takes c.3-4 hours. Our installer will contact you in advance to arrange a date and time convenient to yourself.

PLANNING - THE 'P' WORD

Perhaps our most frequently asked question..."Will I need planning?"

The straightforward answer to this is... "It depends":upon considerations including the location of the canopy; the style of the building (eg whether it is Listed). If in doubt please speak to your local Planning Authority and they will advise whether permission is required.

As a result of this question, and subsequent response Continental Canopies now offer a Planning Application Service.

Therefore for a nominal fee of £650 will provide a full planning application service.

This includes:

Payment of all necessary Local Authority fees.
Payment of all necessary documentation; plans and maps, preparation and submission.
All appropriate form completion and submission.
Document and plans preparation/amendment.
Acting as Agent on your behalf for matters relating to the application.

Please note that whist Continental Canopies have made many successful applications, on our customers' behalf, with numerous Authorities across the country, Continental Canopies Ltd accept no responsibility for the decisions of any Local Authorities prior to, during or after any application is submitted. The decision to apply for planning permission is therefore entirely that of the property owner.
